Optional Remote Control Panel – RCP 101 Series

The Extron RCP 101 Series Remote Control Panel extends front panel control and USB connectivity for USB drive media. They are available in decorator, MK and EU models, and EU models are compatible with Flex55 or European junction boxes. The included USB and power cords extend to RCP 101 Series remote control panels up to 4.5 m (15′). The SMP 352 can simultaneously process 2 high-resolution AV sources in 5 connections. Channel A provides one HDMI signal and an analog or HDMI embedded stereo audio signal. Channel A also provides an HDMI loop-through and audio connection for direct transfer to presentation display devices. The Channel B input supports common camera formats including composite video, HD component video, and HDMI. Another model, the SMP 352 3G-SDI, accepts serial digital video signals from cameras and other professional-grade video sources. They can be switched in real time during the presentation.

In addition, chapter annotations can be inserted during the recording process for efficient searching and scanning during playback of the file. You can periodically grab JPEG thumbnails for each chapter and event annotation. The size of the thumbnails can be selected to meet the needs of the recording environment.

USB storage devices can be easily connected to the front or back panel of the SMP 352. The approximate storage capacity of the 32 GB USB drive, SMP 352 internal solid state memory, and 1 TB network drive is reflected in hours in the chart below. The hourly storage capacity is calculated from a video bit rate of 1 Mbps to 10 Mbps plus 192 kbps of audio.

Extensive streaming function

The SMP 352 offers a wide range of streaming capabilities. It can simultaneously stream two different resolutions and bitrates from 512×288 to 1080p/30. High resolution and high bitrate provide excellent image quality for large screen breakout applications, while lower bitrates and resolutions are better for streaming or preview viewing applications. Intelligent HDCP Signal Management When an encrypted signal is transmitted to a display device that is not HDCP compliant, the green screen signal with HDCP warning generated on the encoded media is sent to this non-compliant display device. All signal switching provides a smooth transition without annoying visual jumps, jitter or distortion during recording and real-time streaming. The Auto-ImageTM feature automatically adjusts source size, centering, and filtering. Auto-input storage preserves the size, position, and picture settings of the input signal to ensure that the source is displayed correctly. Comprehensive picture and aspect ratio control provides high quality, highly accurate image presentation for every application.

Enhanced Kaltura functionality via LinkLicense

It supports annual licensing and integrates with the SMP 352’s Kaltura video platform. LinkLicense is not required for recording the content to the base release of Kaltura.

FlexOS is Extron’s flexible embedded operating system that manages and controls the functional systems of the SMP 352. Extron offers a number of applications that can be uploaded to the SMP 352 to help automate the system through the control port.
